Volkswagen Beetle, Fusca, Escarabajo, Sedan. These are some of the names given to this amazing car. Latino America is full of this funny and charming cars that color its road and bring some happyness and vintage style in the street.
Fusca is the name used in most of the country in south America to call the Volkswagen Sedan.
I can´t believe I´m finally writing this article. Noelle´s probably will kill me when she will see it!
I literally broke her balls during our 9 months travelling Latino America pointing to her every single Volkswagen Fusca I´ve seen parked or passing next to us. I also frustrate her trying to buying one on the ecommerce Mercado Libre (the south amercian Ebay) to travel around different countries more than once but I didn´t succeed. Failing in my mission to buy a Volkswagen Fusca, I would have lately tried to buy a Volkswagen Combi. The infamous Hippy Mini Van that everyone knows.
So as I wasn´t allowed to get one for myself I started cultivating one of my hobby taking picture of these pieces of Cars´history.
This hobby cost me also some bruises on my arms since we met Sam and Nicole in Salinas Ecuador, where we worked in an hostel on the beach. There they taught us a funny ¨game¨ they do every time they see a Fusca. Who spot the car first can punch the other. As Noelle is very competitive now she walks around with her eyes open in the hope to hurt me! Women!!!
From Argentina to Chile, from Bolivia to Ecuador passing through Colombia and Mexico here is my collection.
Red, gold, blue, brown, black, silver and more. There are plenty of colors. I personally prefer the bi-color ones.
Probably a cream and chocolate or a light blue and cream color. what about you?
Do you own a Sedan? What colors would you make your one?
